The Kasubi Tombs, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, were initially established in 1852 by Kabaka Suuna II. Later, Kabaka Muteesa I relocated the royal burial ground to Kasubi, constructing a grand mausoleum called Muzibu Azaala Mpanga. Muteesa I was the first king to be buried here in 1884, and since then, it has become the resting place of several other kings, including Mwanga and Daudi Cwa II. Female descendants of royal wives maintain the tombs, which are accessed through a traditional entry hut called Bujjabukula.
