Bwindi Impenetrable Forest

Located where plains meet mountain forests, Bwindi Impenetrable National Park is described by UNESCO as “an isolated forest of outstanding biological richness.” This ancient forest hosts over 160 tree species, 100 types of ferns, and nearly half of the world’s mountain gorillas. Situated near one of Africa’s most densely populated rural areas, Bwindi’s survival depends on sustainable tourism, like gorilla tracking, which benefits local communities and promotes conservation efforts.
